Intro:

CCToolBox for Autodesk® Inventor® is an Add-In available in the assembly environment.
CCToolBox is a game-changer for assembly productivity.


Copy with constraints (CWC)

Copy with Constraints is a powerful assembly command, letting the user copy a component (part/ sub-assembly) into multiple instances along with its constraints in seconds, via "instant placing".
It is often needed to place the same part/ sub-assembly several times into the assembly, then manually add the same constraints again multiple times like mate/ flush/ angle or tangent.
With CWC the user just selects the component and is then asked about how many instances to copy along with the active constraints.
From here, the user only has to edit constraint values/ expressions in order for positioning, which can be done at any time without any forced workflow.
What was earlier a manual repeated task is now automated.


Project Export

The Project Export feature works from an open and active assembly, and will export the following files from all components (iam, ipt) in the assembly if their BOM structure is set to either "Normal" or "Inseparable" (ContentCenter components ignored):
STEP & DXF (flatpattern) from parts.
PDF from 2D drawings (idw, dwg) if existing via "symbolic link" (same path, filename excluding the original extension).
All exported files will get a 2-digit revision number suffix in their filename: (_##)
An option to copy exported files to a configured publish folder path.


Non Vaulted scanning

Non Vaulted scanning (NVS) is a powerful feature that can scan your "Vault Working Folder" for Inventor files that were never checked into Vault, so basically do not exist in Vault.
NVS doesn't require that you are logged into Vault, but simply scans for Vault "trails" inside a selected folder in your "Vault Working Folder".
Inventor files that don't exist in Vault, will then be logged into a txt file with a timestamp, and then opened in Notepad so the user can take action.


Ground components

Ground components is useful, for example, when you import and convert a STEP or SAT file into an assembly.
This feature can ground all nested components in the assembly structure.
The user is prompted about a DOF (Degrees Of Freedom) threshold, e.g. if only unstrained components with all 6 DOF should be grounded.
Useful as a temporary solution for an assembly where none of the components are already constrained, especially if kinematics must be added later.


Filename to partnumber

Filename to partnumber will update partnumber and top browsernode for all loaded components that do have write access (read/only file attribute cleared) in the open and active assembly.
The partnumber and top browsernode will be set from the component filename; the part number will exclude the file extension.
As an optional bonus, the user can then consider updating all assembly browser nodes using Inventor Productivity Tools: "Rename Browser Nodes"


Overkill features:

Remove invisible components

This powerful feature removes all nested ComponentOccurrences marked as invisible.
"Remove invisible components" is an effective way to reduce the data size of a large assembly imported or converted from a STEP file, especially if kinematics must be added later.
This feature can also be used as a preliminary step before creating a shrinkwrap, because Inventor provides powerful, fine-grained selection methods for components and nested parts.


Remove unresolved components

Remove unresolved components removes all unresolved component references from the nested assembly structure.
This feature can be useful for assemblies in which some CAD files have been lost, allowing you to retain a workable assembly.


Master LOD (Unsuppress all)

The Master LOD feature resembles the former Inventor "Master Level Of Detail" representation, which existed through Inventor 2021 and earlier.
MLOD will attempt to unsuppress all nested components in the assembly structure, hence change the "Primary" Model State's accordingly in many assembly files.

Note: Overkill features should be used with caution.

Installation note:

Unpack the downloaded CCTB_Installer_v102.zip. Ensure that Inventor is closed down (not running), then run setup.exe
If Windows "SmartScreen" appears with a warning despite that CCToolBox is safe and "digitally signed", you can do the following (Windows 11):
Disable Windows "Smart App Control" temporarely via Windows: "Search", then type: "Smart App Control"
Select "Off" and after installation of CCToolBox, select "On".
For loading CCToolBox into Inventor, read the "Intro" in the CCTB_Guide.
